The "Telekom Austria" / AON, one of the biggest Internet providers in Austria, supply their customers with Modem/Router combinations by Thomson, by design equipped with WiFi and configured for WPA access. The default key is provided by a sticker on the modem. What most of the customers are not aware of is the fact htat this algorithm can easily be brute-forced. In about 30 seconds a recent computer can crack the WPA key.

My brand new Tablet-PC features a sensor that detects in which position the screen is and triggers an acpi event upon swivel-up and swivel-down. I found quite some scripts to automatically rotate the screen and adjust the tablet according to the rotation, but most of them failed either immediately or stopped working after the upgrade to xf86-input-wacom. For a project at university we needed a way to communicate with various Nintendo Wii devices through Matlab. We found two projects dealing with Matlab and Nintendo-Devices, fWIIne and WiiLab. Unfortunately, there were some drawbacks: Both work only on Windows XP with Matlab, but not on Linux and MacOS. Therefore, we decided to do our own implementation in Python.

For one of our projects we needed an OSC implementation in MATLAB. Fortunately, there is a free version available from Andy Schmeder. However, it is only pre-compiled available for MacOS X and Windows, but not for Linux. This guide shows how you can compile mexosc on Ubuntu Linux.

I don't own an S60 device anymore, so development on miniproxy has STOPPED!
I recently got a new Cell Phone: The Samsung SGH-i560, which is a Symbian-based device with HSDPA and Bluetooth, but lacks WiFi-support. I thought it would be possible to surf the web via Bluetooth, using my computer's internet connection. Unfortunately, this is not true. So, what to do?
